Sam James is the girl with the two boy names, and spooky season is her favorite. It’s the start of eighth-grade year, her last year in junior high and only one month until the best holiday ever – Halloween.

Everything should be perfect. But middle school is tricky.

What used to be cool isn’t cool anymore, and now Sam’s normal has become everyone else’s strange. Everyone is trying to fit in, but Sam isn’t sure it’s worth if it she has to pretend to be something she’s not. Or pretend not to be something she is.
